Sara ‘Nan’ Vining

Sara “Nan” Vining, 59, of Delaware, died Saturday evening (Feb. 27, 2010) at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

She was born March 19, 1950 in Delaware to Leo and Jean (McLean) Vining. She retired after working in accounting for the American Motorcycle Association and JCPenney. She was a lifetime Delaware resident who was born and raised Catholic. She was a member of the Redman Lodge No. 017, AmVets Post No. 104, and the Moose Lodge, all of Delaware. She enjoyed shopping, going to movies and playing in the euchre club at the Moose. When able, she was an avid supporter and contributor to the Human Society of Delaware County. She also loved her cat, Sidney.

She is survived by her brother, Vic (Janet) Vining of Delaware; half brother, Duncan Myford of Magnetic Springs; her feline companion, Sidney; best friends and soul mates, Kim Potts and Theresa Thompson of Delaware; and numerous other friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3 at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 4, with Woody Bagwell officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Marysville. Everyone is invited to the Delaware Moose Lodge immediately following the graveside services for a time of nourishment and additional fellowship.
