Ruth M. Herold, formerly of Akron and Leesburg, Fla., died Wednesday (March 3, 2010) at home in Delaware.

Ruth attended Pennsylvania State Teachers College and loved working as a teacher until her first child was born. She went on to become president of the National Liberal Religious Education Association and was a well respected speaker and workshop leader. She and her husband Rob loved canoeing, birdwatching and traveling. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to laugh and she had a smile that wouldn't quit. She will be missed very much.

She is survived by four children, daughter, Robin (Terrie), and sons, David (Karen), Keith (Yanli) and Steven (Bonnie); and six grandchildren, Nathan, Rachel, Willie, Sam, Maria and Isa.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rob in 2008, and son, Thomas in 1986.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7 in the Terrace Room of Willow Brook Christian Village, 100 Willow Brook Way, Delaware, OH 43015.

Donations can be made in her name to Passages Alzheimer’s Care Unit at Willow Brook or the Alzheimer's Association.
