Ulysses 'Dan' Kise

Ulysses “Dan” Kise, 82, of Delaware, passed away unexpectedly Thursday afternoon (March 4, 2010) at his residence. He was born Jan. 20, 1928 in Louisa, Ky. to Ulysses and Lula (Moore) Kise. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He retired from Ranco Controls after 48 years of service. He lived most of his life in the Delaware area, was a proud member of the National Rifle Association, enjoyed hunting and was an all-around out-of-doors sportsman. Dan was private by nature and was very fair in his dealings with his fellow man.

He is survived by his two sons, Daniel Lee and William Allen Kise, both of Delaware; three daughters, Diana Stull of Onami, Minn., Doreen (Tony) Woods of Prineville, Ore. and Darlene Sue Smith of Delaware; eight grandchildren, Victoria and Anastasia, Tony Jr. and Paul, Justin and Jason, Jessica and Nicole; a host of great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jay O. Kise and Bill Kise, both of Columbus; and two sisters, Polly Kise of Plain City and Juanita Kise of Sunbury.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, Delaware, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Donnie Akers officiating. Interment will follow at Green Mound Cemetery with military honors provided by the Delaware County Veterans Association.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Rifle Association and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
